Venting

Hi everyone, I know it has been rough without our vent. Here is the update as of right now.

Update 4/5/2009

Current open ticket volume is down below 1,500 from 2,000 yesterday, but we are still backed up. We are still having a full group of people here, and are trying to work the ticket volume down below 1000 today (hopefully even more than that). Our average response time is currently around 2 days -- but is sliding down to the < 1 day level now that we're catching up. Please be patient if you have a ticket in with no reply, we're doing our best and should be more under control by tomorrow.

I understand you are working as hard as you can but if my vent server is not back up today you may consider this my notice of cancelation and I will find a new provider. I think I've been more than patient with this outage.

I'm Back!

Hi all, hope you missed me the past couple of days. I had to go to Washington DC on business so unfortunately I've been off the grid. But now I'm back and hounding Darkstar about the vent server. Apparently, in dealing with the attack they had to roll back to a previous save point with their server data. This caused them to loose a lot of account information. So, I have created a new shell account and they are supposed to be matching the account back to that. All that being said hopefully they can get this resolved soon. I will continue to keep you updated.

Trying to keep you updated

Ok, in an effort to keep you all updated...it seems that the vent server guys are coming back online but now I can't login to the account. So, I have a support ticket submitted and hope to get resolution soon. If this is not fixed by tomorrow I will probably drop them and get a new provider. I have hesitated on doing this sooner because they just charged me last week for this month and hate to throw the money away on this problem. Anyway, hope to see things happen soon.

my.darkstarllc.com is again functional. Ventrilo and Teamspeak nodes that were out of service are mostly back online, HOWEVER, we are still restoring clients servers to them. If this describes you, please DO NOT open a ticket, as this will only slow the process further. If your server is restored already, you will know as you will be able to manage it your control panel. We are continuing to work as fast as we can to recover from Mondays attacks and hope to have the rest of the servers restored today now that we finally have the platform back online that's needed to do so.

Please jump on irc.gamesurge.net #darkstarllc.com. We are currently working on bringing back online our primary database server -- once this is done, everything should be restored as normal. If your server is down, please come to the channel and talk to one of the DarkStar guys in the room and they will get you setup with a temporary server as quickly as possible -- we realize this is effecting a lot of people, and we're doing our best to try to get service restored as possible. No account information or anything of the nature related to your DarkStar account was breached (just for those who might be thinking that) -- and no, to those of you have been posting "Oh, is DarkStar going out of business?" -- the answer is absolutely zero chance of that happening. We just ask that you please be patient, we're working as fast as we can, but we have an absolute ton of machines that are being affected (2000+).
